"Ted Cruz finally released his grip on the Senate floor after more than 21 hours of speaking about the need to defund Obamacare.

The Texas Republican seized control of the Senate floor on Tuesday about 2:42 p.m. vowing to "speak in support of defunding Obamacare until I am no longer able to stand." Where Senator Ted Cruz's speech about ObamaCare was a filibuster, or a crazy man with nothing better to do, then to go down to the U.S. Senate floor and prevent the presiding officer of the Senate from going home to get some much needed sleep, (like a selfish person, or something) Senator Cruz proved one point. He can speak for hours and hours about nothing, add nothing to an already controversial debate about ObamaCare. And apparently do this leaving plenty of coffee and candy bars for everyone else in Washington.

The music might sound corny thirty-years later, but those Jordache denims on that woman certainly do not look corny. If anything those designer jeans and that type of designer denim is even bigger today.

I’ll never understand why women’s denim jeans went from dark wash designer denims from the late 1970s all the way to 1985 or so, to acid wash denims from the late 1980s and even into the early 1990s. And then back to the designer denims of the late 1990s that we are still going through today with the jeans in boots look coming back into style ten-years ago, that is still with us especially in cold weather. The designer denims of this era and now with the low-rise skinny denim look are perfect for sexy women. Especially the dark wash jeans, because of how they highlight women’s legs and butts. Without the women having to show skin when she sits down or stands up.

The Orioles still had some talent in 1987, but their pitching was awful and their defense wasn’t much better. Interesting to hear about all the all-star free agents like Tim Raines and Ron Guidry to still not be playing in April of that year. Because they still are not under contract. The Milwaukee Brewers were interesting in 1987. Led the AL East for the first part of that year starting the season with like a 10-0 record. A very good power-hitting team, but once you got past Teddy Higuera, not enough pitching to keep pace with the Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays and even New York Yankees in 87.

I think the collapse of the Orioles where they went from being an annual World Series contender that made the AL Playoffs practically every year in the 1970s, that won three World Series from 1966-83 and six AL Championships and six AL East Championships in that time period as well, can be traced to their inability to maintain their pitching. Especially their starting pitching where by 87 if not 86, they really only had Mike Bodicker that they could count on as a starting pitcher. The defense was also a big problem for them in 87-88 even though offensively they could still score runs and hit the ball out of the ballpark with Eddie Murray, Cal Ripken, Larry Fred Lynn, Larry Sheets and perhaps a few others.

I buy that there is anger I guess or this feeling that we need something different (in the lets call it the Far-Left in the Democratic Party) so-called Progressive-Democrats ( to be nice, during the holiday season ) like Senator Elisabeth Warren who is not as Far-Left as much as her followers may want her to be. 

Senator Warren is a mainstream Progressive Democrat similar to Ted Kennedy or Sherrod Brown or Tom Harkin. She’s from the FDR/LBJ wing of the Democratic Party. Not the Michael Moore or MSNBC wing, which is very different.

Elizabeth Warren is not a McGovernite government needs to be big enough to manage people’s lives for them, because people are too stupid to do that for themselves. She’s not Dennis Kucinich or Ralph Nader but a center-left Progressive to the Left of me and I’m a Liberal, who wants government to do basic things: like regulating big business especially Wall Street, but not ending business and turning them into government agencies. And when Occupy Wall Street and others on the Far-Left figure this out, by sobering up, she’ll get less of their support.

Senator Warren is not an extremist and if that is what Social Democrats in the Democratic Party want a FDR or Ted Kennedy so-called Progressive, someone who is also pretty mainstream, then great someone like an Elisabeth Warren would go far and give someone like a Hillary Clinton who at best is a Progressive, but not a far-lefty and that may only be when she feel she needs to be. 

Hillary is like a political calculator: she calculates where she believes she needs to be at the time to be politically successful. Which is her main weakness and I believe something she’s going to have to get past, if she really wants to be President of the Untied States.

If Elizabeth Warren were to run as that Progressive that I’m talking about and Hillary runs as the human political calculator, my support would go to the current Senator. Because at least I would know where she is on the issues and be with her on enough things to say voting for her was a good thing. 

But if Liz were to run as a McGovernite “big central government always knows best for the people and people are too stupid to manage their own affairs” she’ll make Dennis Kucinich look like Ronald Reagan when it comes to presidential politics as far as political support. And bomb as badly as Rihanna at a Southern Baptist Convention.

For the life of me, I still don’t know what the woman in this scene was trying to say and what point she was making. Not sure Walker did either, but this is an important part of this movie, because Walker is back in town which is San Francisco. And he is back in town for a real reason, he wants the money that he stole that his partners took for him. 

The money that Walker (played by Lee Marvin) is obviously not his money because he stole it. But in a criminal’s mind, money you take is yours. Except when another criminal takes your money. And Walker first stops by his wife’s apartment and to see if one of the men he’s after one of his former partners is there. Because one of them was sleeping with his wife. And that is really what this scene is about trying to get one of the men that can get him the money that he stole.

If you are interested in just looking like The Lizard King Jim Morrison, let alone playing the man and trying to make a living playing the man in public, the lead vocalist from the Strange Days Band, is the guy you want model your act after. The Strange Days Morrison cover has The Lizard King look down, with white button-down shirt, as well as the white poet shirt that he wears, and of course the American-Indian, silver concho belt, and of course Jim Morrison's famous, sexy, skin-tight black leather jeans, that he wore almost everywhere in public, at least and not just in concert, but to weddings, party's, to church, even, from 1967-69, and his leather cowboy boots.

Imagine Jim Morrison instead of being the frontman of the The Doors from 1967-69, when The Doors were famous and popular, before The Lizard King was overwhelmed by his alcoholism and legal battles, he was performing during the last five years and today instead and imagine what he would look like. Instead of seeing him almost exclusively in black and white (unless you were at his show) you are seeing him exclusively in color. The guy who plays Jim Morrison for Strange Days, is probably the real Jim Morrison that you would see today, perhaps a little shorter. But the whole Lizard King, rock & roll, cowboy, wardrobe and attitude, that you see from this Morrison cover, is probably what you would see from the real Lizard King, assuming Morrison stuck with the leather jeans, cowboy boots, and concho belt.

The lead vocalist has the look of the Lizard King down except for maybe longer hair. And I think his skin-tight leather jeans might actually be tighter than Jim Morrison’s. Which is saying something, because it is hard to imagine a man who wore tight leather jeans and leather jeans even more skin-tight than Jim Morrison. At least from Jim Morrison’s generation.

One of the reasons why Jim Morrison was The Lizard King, because of how he dressed and his skin-tight leathers looked on him. I think Strange Days is the best Doors cover band I’ve seen at least. And there are at least a couple of others that are pretty good. But the guy who plays Jim Morrison, has The Lizard King down. And not just outfit and physical look, but the voice and charisma and how he presents himself on stage. This guy is a hell of an actor and singer.
