"1989 NBA Playoffs G1 Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trailblazers. This is list of games which I'm upload on this channel in next weeks/months. Enjoy people...
From Torontos
Mismatch might be too strong of a term here, because the Portland Blazers were in transition in 1989. They were a consistent, winning team for most of the 1980s, but in 1989 they had two head coaches, because they were losing under head coach Mike Schuler and replaced him with Rick Addleman. And they were also transitioning from ball control offense to a more wide-open offense that was lead by Clyde Drexler and others.

The 1989 Los Angeles Lakers were not as good as the 87 or 88 Lakers, because Kareem was in his last season and was no longer much of a force either on offense or defense. They lost off-guard Byron Scott for most the Western Conference Playoffs. They were still the best team in the West, but probably not considered as the favorite to repeat again as NBA champions. The Lakers weren't as good as they were just in 1988, but clearly had a better team than the Blazers in 1989.
